Jack White Returns to the Guitar to Cover Johnny Cash With the Secret Sisters | pitchfork.com
Found on September 30, 2010
|
Jack White's drumming with the Dead Weather is kinetic and wild and everything, but remember when he played guitar in bands a lot? Good times, those. Well, all is not lost for fans of Jack's particular brand of fire-fingered stringing. The multi-talented workaholic gives up a few White Stripes-worthy solos in a new cover of Johnny Cash's "Big River" by Alabama newcomers the Secret Sisters, which you can stream above. (My Morning Jacket's Carl Broemel plays pedal steel on the track, too.)
