For fans and music efficianados, February 3rd, 1959, always will be remembered as The Day the Music Died, when the Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft carrying Buddy Holly (born Charles Hardin Holley), Ritchie Valens (of "Donna" and "La Bamba" fame), and a popular disc jockey, Jiles Perry Richardson, Jr. (aka "The Big Bopper") crashed in a Clear Lake, Iowa
